Make Money from the Web!
Yes it's true! Just for giving up some desktop space and bandwidth
for advertising, people will pay you to surf the web. Here are a few
programs that I am currently subscribed to:
AllAdvantage:
This program pays you $.50 for every minute of active
web surfing you do, up to a maximum of 25 hours per month. It sits
on the bottom of your desktop just above the taskbar and displays various
advertisements as you surf. It works with IE and Netscape.
Downsides: It takes up space on your taskbar
as well as your desktop but you can close or minimize it. They only mail you a check
if your balance with them at the end of the month is $20 or more.
CashSurfers:
This program pays you a percentage of its total profits based
on the amount of points you accumulate by being online. Unlike AllAdvantage
there is no limit to the amount of points you can accumulate. There are several
ways to obtain points. The standard way is to simply load the cashbar which
about the same size as the AllAdvantage one. Ads are pushed to your
computer and you get 10 points for every ad. By clicking on the cash symbol
on the bar, it will take you to a Special Deals page where various
other programs you sign up for or visit will give you more points. You must
have Internet Explorer 5 or higher.
Downsides: Like AllAdvantage it takes up desktop space but unlike AllAdvantage
it doesn't appear in the taskbar. Like AllAdvantage they won't mail you a check unless
your balance is $20 or more.
AllCommunity.com:
This company not only pays you for surfing the web, it also pays you for reading email that
it sends you! There are a couple other programs but they require you to pay to use them.
You can sign up for some, or all of their programs. You get $.03/email you read,
and $.50/hour for surfing the web with their adbar. The surfing program is not active yet
however but should be soon.
Downsides: You may not want to do the email one if you're already fighting a losing
battle against spam. They only mail you a check if your balance is $100 or more.
Yes, you can run more than one at the same time! But even light surfing slows down
considerably especially on a modem if you do that. Plus about a quarter
of your desktop is gone at 1024x768 res if you only run 2 at once!
Other ways to make money
Cybergold:
This program pays you money for performing certain tasks on the web such as
signing up for other services or buying something off of a website. If you find you
freqently don't know what to do with yourself on the web, visit them and they'll tell
you what to do and how much they'll pay you to do it!
Downsides: Many offers are only cash-back offers so you have to buy something to
get the money. The constant emails regarding new offers may annoy you after a while.
RadioFreeCa$h:
This is a nifty program that pays you $0.20/hour to listen to their streaming audio.
It works with Media Player or Real Player. The best thing is that you can minimize it
while you listen so you don't have to watch the ads!
Downsides: If you have a slow Internet connection don't bother.
PayPal.com:
This program will pay you $10 just for signing up. It's a service that allows you to
"beam" money to yourself or others via the Internet using email. It even has a version that
works on your Palm!
Downsides: You must register a credit card with them in order to get your bonus, however
it's an easy way to exchange money with others on the Internet who may not have credit card
processing capability so I would recommend you sign up even if there were no bonus!
